Waffle Flower July Challenge: Christmas in July

Hello friends and welcome to Waffle Flower Crafts July challenge!!!

During the first week of this month, I will be hosting this challenge along with Xenia Barrull and Enna Adams. We challenge you to create Christmas projects using non conventional Christmas colors. Sounds fun right?

I made some non conventional projects that I hope inspire you to create some cards and join us in this challenge.

My first project features the recently released Mistletoe Panel die. I love shaker cards so after I unblinded the background using Distress Oxide inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade and Salvaged Patina) I used the Oversized Joy set to create both the sentiment and subsentiment.

With the negative part of the previous die cut panel I created another card with more dramatic colors using this Nuvo Glacier Paste Winter White Paste and black cardstock.

I also have created a project using the Merry Wreath set.

I love love love this set. I stamped these little cutties applying some Distress Oxide Vintage ink onto the stamp using the foam blending tool. Then I added some contrast and texture using Polychromos Colored pencils. For the wreath, bow and scarfs I used Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. For the background I used this pale pink cardstock over which I applied Distress Oxide Spun Sugar using the Buffalo Plaid Stencil.

My next project features one of the Nesting Christmas tree die and the previously released Sun Rays die:

Once I die cut all these pieces I arranged them towards the centre of the tree as I have thought to place the sentiment on top of where all the rays met. I applied some spray adhesive and then applied some glitter on top. Maybe I used some more conventional Christmas colors for this project...what do you think?

For my next project I used the Circle Snowflake die to make a shaker card with the JJ's Rainbows paper pad:

The last projects I made for this challenge, feature the Layered Poinsettias dies:

In these card I used the knitted background stencil over which I applied some Nuvo Glacier Paste Sea Sprite. I thought the some yellow poinsettias would match with this light turquoise color.

For my next card I used the Snow background stencil over which I applied some orange, yellow green, mustard, turquoise and purple colors. then I ink blended the Layered Poinsettias with the same colors:

For my last card I made a wreath using just the smallest die of the Layered poinsettias. I used the same colors of the previous card. I arranged these Poinsettias over the Mistletoe Wreath die.

I hope I have inspired you to create some Christmas cards using unconventional colors!!!
