Foliage Shaker dies & Colorful Strips

Hello again friends!

I'm popping in today sharing a very clean and simple way to step up your colorful strips projects using the new and gorgeous Foliage Shaker dies.

I started my project by adding color to an 1 1/4 inch width white piece of cardstock applying the mini ink cubes directly. I find these ink cubes super versatile for techniques. I chose Tidal Pond, Meadow, Key Lime, Sunshine, Marigold and Coral Reef. My first idea was to use colored cardstock but the ink cubes add that special texture that I love so much.

Once I had all my panels colored, I used the 1/4 Slim Strip die from the Slim Stripes Die set to cut out the strips. Then I adhered five of these strips to a piece of card stock so I had four long colorful panels to add to my card base. I tried several ways of adhering these panels and in the end I decided to place them horizontally and vertically trying to achieve an unexpected and fun graphic design.

I have a reel coming soon where I show you this super simple process. I was about to run these strips panels through my die cutting machine using an A2 panel die though in the end left it as is, but that is also a fun way to add texture to your strips.

Next up, I die cut an A2 panel using the Foliage Shaker Dies. I just cut out three leaves in a triangular pattern out of an A2 white panel. My idea was to use the negative piece as my front panel. I adhered some double sided foam adhesive on the back and placed this piece onto my colorful strips panel.

I wanted to add some interest to the inner part of the leaves so I cut them out of white glitter card stock. I used the Enjoy Today sentiment from the Delicate Foliage Stamp. I just love the font of this simple but beautiful sentiment.

Since I had some leftover strips, I decided to create another card. This time I just just cut out the leaves out of the colorful strips and placed the inner part of the leaf of top. I cut out an A2 panel using the Dotted Chrevron Coverplate and arranged these three leaves on top of it. To add some interest, I foam mounted four super thin pieces of colorful strips on the corners. You can't never have enough of your leftover pieces. Lastly, I added the thanks for everything sentiment from the Wonderful Sentiments Stamp set.

I hope these projects gave you some ideas on how to add texture to your projects using your ink cubes and your dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Raquel
