Waffle Flower Crafts April release and Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends and welcome to Waffle Flower’s April 2021 Release day! I’m so happy to be hopping with Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! This month, the Waffle Flower release is full of stamps, dies, and stencils that celebrate the hope and joy of Spring!

This release includes the Birthday Kitties set (stamp, die, stencil) and Birthday Puppies set (stamp, die, stencil) by Liz Mytinger; Pawsome Birthday Sentiments set (stamp); Jumbo Flower Pot set (stamp, die) and Simple Stems set (stamp, die) by Karla Jodoin; Teacher set (stamp, die) and Oversized Smile set (stamp, word die) by JJ Bolton; Pennant Alpha Stamp set (stamp, die), Pennant Banners (stencil), Pennant Alpha Duo-tone set (stencil); Confetti (die, stencil); Brick Wall (stencil), Spotlight Diamond (stencil), Spotlight Hexagon (stencil), and Spotlight Triangle (stencil); and Stitched Diamond Panel (die), Triple Line Diamond Panel (die), and Stitched Flower Panel (die).

For the fist card I'm sharing I used the Birthday Puppies set along with the House Outline die and the Confetti Stencil. I ink blended the background using Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar and Squeeze Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I also ink blended the house walls with the Brick Wall Stencil using Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink. I used a light gray cardstock for the rook and a light pink cardstock for the door and windows.

I colored the puppies using the Birthday Puppies Stencil using Vintage Photo, Picked Raspberry Ground Expresso and Mustard Sheed Distress Inks.

I added some grass using the Scenery die in light yellow cardstock. For the sentiment I used one of the same Birthday Puppies set.

For my second card I used the Birthday Kitties Set using one again the stamp, the stencil and the die. I used the Slimline Window Trio die to house these lovely creatures and the Pennant banners to decorate the background.

The stencil on the set makes coloring so quick and easy!!! you can have your creatures colored in minutes.... I used Distress inks: Picked Raspberry, Squeeze Lemonade and Candied Apple for the kitties and the banners and Copics markers to color the gift boxes (Y17, Y15, Y11, YG00, YG01, R37, R35, R32) The sentiments are from the same Birthday Kitties Stamp set.

For my next card I only used dies: the Oversized Smile set and the Penant Alpha stencil and die.

I chose a teal cardstock to die cut the inner Oversized Smile and vellum for the shadow.

As a backdrop, I ink blended a panel all these letters with Spiced Marmelade, Squeeze Lemonade and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks. I used the Pennant Alpha die to die cut all the letters and carefully glued them to create the background.

My next card features the Stitched Diamond Panel along with the Oversized Smile die. I started by creating a background with liquid watercolors in several shades of pink , orange and yellow creating a gradient look. Once it was dried I used the Diamond Panel die to cut it out

I then adhered the pieces using foam tape and added the Smile die on top in gold and vellum.

Since I had my watercolors on the table, I decided to make another background. I love the look of flowers heat embossed on vellum, so I used the Jumbo Flower Pot Stamp to White heat emboss it onto vellum:

I cut out several pieces of vellum and stacked them for some dimension. I then adhered the Jumbo flowerpot onto the watercolored piece and added the Hugs die cut from the set Simply Set on top.

Using the exact same technique, I white heat embossed again the Jumbo Flower pot stamp set, this time to create a shaker card:

I created a background using the Spotlighe Diamond Stencil and some Distress inks: Squeeze Lemonade, Spun Sugar and Cracked Pistachio. The sentiment is from the previously released set Tender Blooms.

I made another card with the Jumbo Flower Pot set this time using Copic Markers and the Tripe Line Diamond Panel Die:

I ink blended the background with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is from the Oversized Smile stamp.

My last card features the Simple Stems set. I just gold heat embossed all the images from the set and applied a light watercolor in teal and peach.

I arranged the flowers and the leaves inside one of the Lacy Circle dies. I added the the sentiment from the set Teacher embossed in gold, splatter some gold drops on top and placed it onto a square card.
